ST. PAUL'S PARISH - 150TH ANNIVERSARY - 2008
The committee is meeting on a monthly basis to plan
the celebration. Meeting of the 150th Anniversary Committee Monday May 11th, 7:00 p.m.
The main focus will be on June 28th
which is the commeration of St. Paul who is the patron
saint for whom the parish was named after. A Mass
is scheduled for June 28th at 4 p.m. at the parish
church.
We will keep you posted regarding other events
that will be planned. Watch the web-site for details.
The committee is currently selling tickets on a mirror. This mirror is framed with oak wood that was originally in the old St. Pauls church. The frame was constructed by Gerald Chiasson. Tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5. and are available at Gary's Grocery or from any member of the committee (Paul Melong, Yvonne Sampson, Zina Chiasson, Damien & Myrtle Breen, Mary Williams, Dan Fougere, Bert Fougere & Bob King). Draw date is June 28.
There are several contests currently underway for the youth in the parish.
The Commerative plates & mugs are now available and are on display at the back of the church. Plates are $20 and the mugs are $5. They can be purchased before & after Mass on Sunday or at Gary's Grocery in the village and at Precious Moments in the Antigonish Mall.

If anyone who lives away wants a mug/plate that they should contact a family member who currently lives here as we will not be able to package and ship these mugs out ourselves.
The committee is also working on a commerative book with information covering the last 50 years of our parish. This book will be available sometime in early June.
The main focus of the 150th Anniversary will be Mass which will be celebrated on June 28th at 4 p.m. with Bishop Raymond Lahey as the celebrant. Immediately following Mass there will be an open house at the Community Centre. Luncheon will be served and there will be entertainment.
