The Havre Boucher Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1974. Members of the community have volunteered their time and experitse to ensure continuous service. Along with the support of the community in fundraising the department has been able to purchase a fire truck, a pumper truck, a rescue truck and the jaws of life. With this equipment and continuous training they are an intricate part of our community.
Havre Boucher Wild Fire
On May 25th, 2020 a wild fire started in Frankville and within a short time period it was determined to be out of control due to extremely dry conditions. At the height of the fire it was thought to encompass 200 hectares. A command centre was set up at the Havre Boucher Volunteer Fire Station. Fire fighters from Mulgrave, Port Hastings, Tracadie, Aulds Cove and Pomquet assisted the Havre Boucher Volunteer Fire Department along with DNR and a DNR helicopter. The fire was contained within 3 days.
